I have questions about education benefits.

While you are always welcome to come to the Veterans Center and talk to staff, your best point of contact is a VA Certifying Official in the Office of the Registrar in 214 Enrollment Services Center.

I’m having trouble budgeting/managing my income, who can I talk to?

Iowa State University offers a Financial Counseling Clinic for all students. There website and contact info are located here.  There is also a plethora of free budget apps and websites, each with their own advantages and disadvanteges. I’m looking for a job.

Our office looks for motivated and committed Veteran or military affiliated students to work with our team at providing excellent services to their fellow students. How can I get involved with other Veterans at Iowa State?

Veterans are always welcome to stop by ISU Veteran Lounge to grab a quick cup of coffee, catch up on some study time, or have a chat. We also have Thursday Night Dinners every week while school is in session that are completely free. Not sure where to start? Contact us and we can help you get started.

I need help in my classes, what should I do?

The Veteran Center wants you to succeed during your time here at ISU. Check out our Academic Support page for lists of resources and programs provided by our office. You can also contact us and we can help you get started.

I didn’t do as well as I wanted in class.

We encourage you to meet with our staff to discuss strategies and plans going forward. It is available to all students, but may be required for students facing academic warning or probation. Contact us to set up an appointment to talk about your academic strategy.
